What We Believe

Our belief in the church is a cornerstone of our spiritual journey, guiding us toward faith, community, and understanding.

We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of the living God; that it is true and trustworthy, infallible, immutable, enduring and eternal, final and authoritative, useful for faith and practice, inspired by the Lord God Almighty Himself, and written down by holy men of God as they were moved and directed by the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:19-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 17;17, Psalm 119:89).

We believe in the Trinity or the Triune God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. That the Godhead is eternal and co-equal. That the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit were all involved in creation and are involved in the redemption of mankind, and they are all are working toward the consummation of all things for the glory of God (Genesis 1:1-3, Luke 3:21-22, Matthew 28:19).

Man or mankind was created in God’s image and likeness, and because of man’s sin in the Garden of Eden, mankind fell from the glorious state that God made them to be. Every person is a sinner and we all justly deserve the condemnation and punishment of a just and holy God (Genesis 1:26, Genesis 2:7-24, Psalm 139:15-16, Micah 6:8).

We believe that all people, men and women are sinners. Through the Fall of our first parents, Adam and Eve, sin entered the world and everyone who comes through their seed is a sinner. No one is righteous on their own. We have inherited sin from Adam and Eve, but we also have committed or commit our own sins. Mankind is under the bondage and dominion of sin and death and could not save or free themselves. Man needs a Savior or a Redeemer (Genesis 3:1-19, Psalm 51:5, Isaiah 59:2, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23).

We believe that mankind needs to be saved or redeemed from their sins. Mankind’s means of Salvation has been provided by God the Father through Jesus, who came into the world to die for the sins of the whole world on the Cross of Calvary when shed His blood for the sins of all people. He rose again from the dead on the third day and is alive forevermore. Anyone who believes in Jesus and repents of his or her sins, is forgiven of his or her sins and is saved. Salvation is by grace through faith, not by the works of men or the goodness of man (Acts 4:8-12, Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 3:23-26, Romans 7:23-25).

We believe that Jesus is God. Jesus is not one of the prophets or just a good, moral man or teacher. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind; the whole world. He is the Savior of both the Jews and Gentiles. Jesus is God who came into the world and took on human flesh to take away the sins of the whole world, the sins of people from every nation, language, tribe, and tongue. Anyone who believes in Jesus and His finished work on the Cross of Calvary is saved and is given eternal life. Jesus is the Mediator between God and man, the only way to the One True God and to heaven, the dwelling place of the One True God. (Matthew 1:21-23, Luke 2:11, John 1:14, John 14:6, Matthew 16:13-17).

We believe that the Holy Spirit, who is the Third Person of the Truine God has come to continue the work of the Lord Jesus Christ on earth, that the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit accompanies salvation. He convicts the world of sin and is involved in the salvation of souls. The Holy Spirt indwells the believer, gives the believer power for godly living and service, gifts the believer for service unto God, and enables the believer to be fruitful spiritually including, bearing the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and faithfulness; as well as bearing physical fruit including, a blessed marriage, blessed children, a healthy and blessed home or family (Acts 2: 38-39, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11,  Galatians 5:19-21, Galatians 5:22-23).

We believe that the same way the Jesus came the First time to save mankind from their sins, He will come again the Second time, this time not to save the world, but to take those who believe in Him and are living for Him unto Himself. The same way the prophecies about Jesus’ First Coming were fulfilled in the ‘fullness of time,’ Jesus’s Second Coming will also be fulfilled in God’s own perfect time (Galatians 4:4, Acts 1:9-11, Hebrews 9:28, 2 Peter 3:8-15).

We believe in a future and final Judgement of all people who lived or are living on the earth. That Jesus Christ is going to be the Judge of all people. We believe that heaven is a real place and is eternal; and hell is also a real place and is eternal. Those who believe in Jesus and live their lives to honor Him, will go to heaven and enjoy God’s presence and goodness forever; those who do not believe in Jesus and reject His free gift of salvation and eternal life, will go to hell and suffer eternal punishment (Hebrews 9:27, 2 Peter 3:5-7, 2 Peter 2:4-10, Matthew 25:31-46).

We believe that marriage is designed and instituted by God and is the union between one man and one woman, and that what God has joined together, no one should separate (Genesis 2:18-25, Matthew 19:3-9,  Ephesians 5:21-31).
